Tom Yum Goong the movie dates from 2005, and is also from Thailand like the soup. A martial arts action movie, it features Tony Jaa directed by Prachya Pinkaew, the director responsible for the Jaa’s first movie, Ong-Bak. This poplar movie has many names. In the UK it was The Warrior King. In the United States it was The Protector. In Spain it was released as the Thai Dragon and in Germany, Revenge of the Warrior King.

This movie proved very popular in Thailand and the world grossing about $25 million, making it a very popular martial arts movie and the highest grossing Thai movie of all time.
